Bamboo Newsletter, Nov, 17^th-21^st, 2008

Dear Parents:

Thanks for reading our bamboo blog every Sunday.

-Thanks for coming to the Parent Conference. It gave us a chance to talk about your kids and also helped me to know your kids better. If you have any questions, please feel free to talk to me whenever you have time.

-Our reward system helps kids participate a lot especially in our body movement session.

-Thanks to all kids for their longer concentration at circle time.

Last week, we learned that we need to do exercise to keep healthy and eat healthier.

This week, we reviewed everything we learned from Theme 1 and we introduced “Thanksgiving holiday”. We have our thankful tree to put our thankful leaves on.

Next week-Dec, 2nd, it is our last week for our theme 1, my body. We will review everything we learned and celebrate Thanksgiving Day on Wed with a potluck. We will also have our sandwich day on Dec, 2^nd for our last activity for theme 1.

Thanksgiving game:火鸡的羽毛 a turkey’s feather

Nov,17^th: We introduce Thanksgiving Day (感恩节) and learn that we usually eat turkey (火鸡) on Thanksgiving. The main meaning of thanksgiving is to thank all people or all things around you. We have our thankful tree for each kid. They are drawing or writing who or what they are thankful for on leaves for their little thankful tree. (art, language)

Nov,18^th: We again had our thankful leaves with what or who we are thankful for on the thankful tree. We made our little turkey with a turkey head and five facial features. (art)

Nov,19^th: We again made our thankful leaves with what or who we thank for the thankful tree. We made a turkey hat with four colorful feathers. Everyone needed to count how many feathers they could get. (art, math)

Nov,20^th and 21^st: Parent Conference Day!!

l I’m sorry for not being able to insert pictures. My memory card has a problem and my PC can’t read it. I will post pictures as soon as I get them.

Thanks for your support so bamboo gardeners are doing well and growing. Our first theme, my body, is coming to an end. We are going to finish theme 1 on Dec, 2^nd. I am happy our bamboo gardeners are having fun with all of our activities. For our next theme “My family”, I and bamboo gardeners are going to remodel our dramatic play area. I will need your help for the new setting. Here is a wish list below and please sign when you drop your kids off:

Dear Bamboo’s parents:

Thank you for being supportive. Our next theme is “My Family” and will begin on December 2^nd. Bamboo gardeners are going to remodel our dramatic corner into a small studio including a living room, kitchen, and bedroom. I need your help with the remodeling. Here is a wish list below and please sign your kid’s name next to the supply you feel comfortable to bring to support our next theme. Your help will be greatly appreciated. Please bring it before our Thanksgiving holiday.

“My family” will be finished about the end of Jan/2009. By then, we will return all supplies you provided.
