梅园报晓 Plum Garden News—No.20
March 2 – March 6
Kindergarten / First grade
Greeting Parents,
The children enjoyed playing in their new house. We have used the living room and bedroom for our story time. I have enjoyed watching them to pretend a family character during their play. They are imaged themselves as working adult, a sister, a brother, a Mom, and a Dad. Their favourite game is taking Bart to work. The house is still under construction (the bathroom still needs more detail) and we will need a few of home appliances. I have a wish list and would like to ask parents could help me find them in your garage. Therefore, the children can use them for their play. If you have some old appliances that have sat in your garage for long time or you have some things that you don’t need them anymore. We would love to use them for our new house.
Here is our wish list:
• Old phones
• Cushions
• Table lamp or floor lamp
• Clothes (I have many girl clothes that donate from my daughter, but we need some boy’s clothes. Do you have old clothes to donate or clothes that doesn’t fit your child anymore? Such as t-shirt, short pants and long pants. I would like to use old clothes to teach children how to sort their clothes at home because “家庭好帮手 / A good helper” is one of our inquiries.)
Our inquiries for this week are 不同的材料盖不同的家 / Different houses are built from different materials and 我家里面的人和他们的职业? / The members in my family/what are their occupations?
Thank you Oscar for showing and sharing his family pictures with us today. We will continue to introduce everyone’s families to class and use it as part of our inquiry reference. Just a reminder, Julian is next week of family.
Here is a list for the family projects:
• Oscar—The project will be sent home with Oscar on Friday, 2/27 and it will be due on Monday, 3/2.
• Julian—The project will be sent home with Julian on Friday, 3/6 and it will be due on Monday, 3/9.
