Parent Participation
Shu Ren strongly encourages active parent participation. Caring and vigorous parents working with administrators, teachers, and staff are the lifeblood of a cohesive school community. Each family or individual parent has gifts and talents to offer. There are numerous opportunities to put skills and interests to use in a manner that will enrich the quality of Shu Ren and the family’s time at the School. Shu Ren depends extensively on the invaluable contributions of parents in all areas of school life to sustain the community of the School and the quality of the educational experience.

Room Parents
Anyone may volunteer to be a room parent and each class will have at least one room parent. Room parents are the liaison between parents and the School, by organizing class or grade-wide social events or coordinating requests for assistance on field trips. They also act as a channel for parents to express their ideas to Shu Ren teachers, head and other administrators, as well as to the Shu Ren Parent Association for volunteer activities or improvements.

Shu Ren PA
The Shu Ren Parent Association recognizes that the active participation of parents working closely with faculty and administration of a school is essential to the education of their children. Therefore, all parents have the opportunity to be members of the Shu Ren Parent Association.

The mission of the Shu Ren International School Parents Association (Shu Ren PA) is to promote communication between parents and the School, enhance the educational experience of our children, and strengthen the school community. All parents are welcome to participate in Shu Ren PA meetings, which are held each month on a weekday evening at the school.
